At today's EcoHusky meeting we discussed the following:

The Source to the Sea event sponsored by the Last Green valley. The deadline for this event is Nov. 7th. The link to a pdf file with more information on the event is:

6th Annual P3 Awards: A National Student Design Competition for Sustainability Focusing on People, Prosperity and the Planet Grant

We discussed the having another beach cleanup day this month. The site of the cleanup is still undecided so if you have any ideas or questions email Ryan.

Also we discussed the goals of EcoHusky and what we want to accomplish this year.
Our three main goals seemed to be the following:
1. To implement change in environmental policy 2. To make a positive environmental impact on the AP campus 3. To make a positive environmental impact on the community The topics for what we want to accomplish this year include (but are not limited too):
-the application of pesticides on campus -If interested in helping with this contact Jamie or Britta -hazardous waste -If interested in this contact Paola -heating oil and the community -If interested in this contact Todd -more energy efficient lights on campus -recycling and amount of garbage cans on campus

We also discussed the possibility of taking a field trips. So if you have ant ideas on field trips you want to take as a club, contact Syma or Christine.

Next on Wednesday October 8th at 7:00 there is another Walmart hearing at the Groton Town Annex.

Last, On October 15 starting at 12:00 candidate answers to the student environmental questions will be posted at the Student Center when we have our voter registration day. Members of the Democrat, Republican, Green and Libertarian parties have been invited to man an informational table. The EcoHusky club will have a table and I would appreciate it if some of the members of the club could man the table. If you are interested in doing so let me know.
